Laptop Program

Pakenham Secondary College operates a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program. This program ensures every student has ‘anywhere, anytime access to innovative learning resources. It will also allow teachers to engage students in quality e-learning activities in class, and ensure they are prepared to enter a technology-rich world.

Additionally, with the combination of DET’s eduPass solution and Microsoft Office 365 initiative, students will have free access to a catalogue of software to download and install on their personal machines.

The Department of Education and Training has a list of authorised suppliers for computers and hardware for schools. These are reputable companies that have been tested and approved by DET. Pakenham Secondary College use Edunet as its preferred supplier.

Edunet has an online purchasing portal that has been specifically designed for school environments.

The online portal is set up as a step-by-step system allowing you to select your device, accessories (if applicable), extended warranty and insurance. It also offers flexible payment methods.

Please read below to find out more about our One-to-One Netbook program, Edunet portal details, purchase specifications and pricing, significant dates for ordering, frequently asked questions and to use the access code.

It is not compulsory to order a device through our BYOD portal. If you purchase a device outside of the portal, your child will still receive technical support from our technicians, however, any damage or warranty issues will need to be handled externally.

Details of the recommended laptops will be provided in your enrolment pack, which will be sent shortly, but if you require further clarification, please contact our office on (03) 5945 1433.

Our Preferred Supplier - Edunet

In recent years Pakenham Secondary College has implemented a One-to-One Laptop Program. The Laptop program has been embraced by students and staff. We believe they are a tool that our students need if we are to prepare them appropriately for the 21st century.

This year we will be using a preferred supplier, Edunet Technology. This company will provide the option of an upfront payment or a payment plan, with optional accidental protection insurance (ADP) and in-school repairs.

All computers will be configured by the Education Department with the Department's School Technology Architecture and Resources (eduSTAR) standard platform software for free.

The eduSTAR program provides over 120 software applications covering animation, image creation, drawing, interactive curriculum resources, logic and more applications.

While the student has ownership of the computer, the College maintains ownership of the eduSTAR suite of programs on the laptop.
