About the Student Core Team

Our Student Core Team for our Wellbeing Dog, Kevin, is a small group of students committed to assisting with Kevin's daily tasks, on a rostered timetable, currently every Tuesday and Thursday during term time.

Students who become a part of this team will have assistance and guidance from members of our Core Team.

Below you will find a video which Dogs Connect (our partners with this program) have provided for our community. This gives a short explanation of the program.

Thank you for volunteering. You will be advised shortly if you are successful in your application and we will arrange a meet and greet with Kevin next week.

The benefits of being a member of this team

Being a member of this student core team will give you a sense of responsibility.

You will learn how to take care of Kevin and how to delegate care which can help grow your leadership and organisational skills.

We would like to thank you for volunteering to be part of this special team.

Wellbeing Dog at Our College Video

All about Kevin

I am a 4-year-old Golden Labrador x Retriever.

My fur Mum and Dad breed dogs used for victims in court, as support whilst they are giving their statements.

I've grown up around 5 children and love playing with other dogs. Although I'm not so fond of cats, as when I went to say hello to my neighbouring cat, he swiped me and hissed at me. We haven't been friends since.

Being a Lab Retriever x, I get the best of both breeds. I have my silly playful moments as a lab with 'zoomies', I love my food, although I won't take food off a bench or out of your hand (please be mindful), and my retriever side is my calm, relaxed side (Mum says that's the sensible Kevin).

I like toys, but I'm not one to play fetch. I just like to walk around and show everyone. I like going for walks, having a run off-lead and if there is water about, I will definitely go for a swim.

I am at Pakenham Secondary college every Tuesday and Thursday during term time.
