As part of Pakenham Secondary College's commitment to delivering a rich, engaging and future-focused curriculum, all Year 7 and 8 students participate in a Passion Project each semester. Passion Projects are a timetabled part of the curriculum that provide students with the opportunity to explore their interests, try something new and take an active role in their learning.
Passion Projects take place on Wednesday afternoons and support the development of important transferable skills, including communication, problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, teamwork, resilience and collaboration.
Parents and carers are asked to complete the Passion Projects Preference Form below by 4pm on Monday, 27th July. Students should nominate a first preference, second preference and a back-up option from the available projects.
While every effort will be made to place students in either their first or second preference, some projects may not run if minimum numbers are not met, while others may fill quickly due to high demand. In these circumstances, students may be allocated to their nominated back-up option.
Please note that some Passion Projects may involve excursions or activities that incur a small cost. Families will be notified in advance of any associated fees. Eligible families may be able to use the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) to assist with these costs.
Below you will find a brief description of each Passion Project. For more detailed information, please refer to the Year 7 and 8 Curriculum Handbook.
Please explore the Passion Projects below by hovering over each image to view a short description. We encourage students and families to read the full project descriptions in the Curriculum Handbook before submitting their preferences.
